The Mendocino County Library subscribes to several online databases which contain the full text of magazine and newspaper articles, test preps and other unique educational reference aids.

Please note:  A Mendocino County Library card is required to access these areas.

Magazines and Newspapers

EbscoHost a database that provides full text for nearly 350 periodicals covering general reference topics, including health, science, and other areas. In addition, to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for nearly 500 periodicals. It also provides cover-to-cover full text for more than 40 (U.S.) & international newspapers. The database also contains selective full text for 389 regional (U.S.) newspapers. In addition, full text television & radio news transcripts are also provided. Buscar en Espanol.  Other EbscoHost services are an Auto Repair Reference Center and a Student Research Center. EbscoHost now has a new mobile app you can download for access on the go!

Zinio Magazines Online  A great new online resource with over 60 titles currently available with more acquisitions on the way! Check back often to see updates and new titles.

Learning Express Library and Job & Career Accelerator  is a comprehensive, interactive online learning platform of practice tests and tutorial courses designed to help patrons, students and adult learners succeed on the academic or licensing tests they must pass.  It contains many preparation tests for the military, GED, SAT, CBEST and many more. The only requirement is a Mendocino County Library Card.

World Book Online  not just an encyclopedia but much more!  World Book Online provides research tools, eBooks, and educational tools for kids, students, and adults.  Plus they have National and International newspapers to enhance the learning experience.

Broadband Alliance Survey   Frustrated with your internet access ?  Do something about it.  Fill out a survey online from Broadband Alliance or ask a staff member for a form to fill out at the Library.

Tax Forms   beginning Feb 1 through April 15 of each year the library stocks a number of tax forms e.g. 1040s, 1040Es, etc.  Other forms not on hand at the Library can be accessed online at the IRS’ website.  Don’t have a printer?  As a public service, all branches of the County Library are offering to print individual forms free of charge.  Due to the high cost of printing, we are unable to print entire booklets but they can usually be found at the Library Reference Desk as well as online at www.irs.gov.
